- Ask students to select pictures of different
neighborhood scenes or draw a picture showing some qualities of their
neighborhood.

- Students describe their picture/neighborhood
to other students in the group.

Alternative 2
|
- The student selects or draws a picture
that represents his her neighborhood
|
- The student writes 3 words that describe
it from the target vocabulary.
|
- The student holds up the picture that was
selected or drawn. Other students in the group try to guess what words
were written down to describe it. "Is it messy? Is it quiet?"
etc. Continue until all the written words have been guessed.

- Finally the original student repeats a
complete description of his or her neighborhood. "My neighborhood
is pleasant. It is clean. "It is noisy."

Alternative 3 |
- Ask each student
to describe his or her neighborhood to a partner.
|
- The partner
reports what the other person said to the group.
