Salary Placement: Hourly rate, adult education salary schedule ($26.62- $31.59) & Community Education teachers hourly rate $25.00 per hour.

Job Description: The instructor will have the immediate responsibility for the development, implementation, management and teaching of a curriculum which will qualify completing students for certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant-Home Health Aide. Training will be provided in a long-term care facility and/or a community site under the immediate supervision of the certificated instructor.
Minimum requirements: Be currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in California; have at least one full year of full-time experience providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility and one year of experience providing home health care. Have or qualify for a California Designated Subject Adult Education and/or Vocational Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Nursing Services.

Job Description: The Watsonville/Aptos Adult Education is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to provide educational and counseling groups to the criminal justice populations. Applicants should be knowledgeable in all aspects of drug recovery and 12 step models including anger management, AIDS/health education, addiction and addictive behaviors, pharmacology, family systems, self esteem and self image, communication skills, recovery process and more. It is possible that this position may grow to include assistance in following up on program completers and participation in meetings related to the students’ progress. In addition to counseling and education, this position will conduct some screening and assessment; assist inmates in developing treatment plans; help facilitate entry into relapse prevention and continuing care services; the worksites for this position will be located inside Santa Cruz County Men’s Correctional facilities.
